Our Recommendation: We recommend all of our customers use a certified and insured installer. The best place is usually the bigger chain type stores or car dealers, as they have experience in wheel and tire installation.
Always dry fit your wheels first before installing tires on the wheels. 99% of retailers/wholesalers/manufacturers will not take back wheels if they have been mounted but do not, for instance, clear brakes. Also check your lug nuts or bolts to make sure they are the right thread pitch. For vehicles with bolts, please feed a bolt through the aftermarket wheel into the vehicle and spin with one bolt in, i.e. if the aftermarket bolt is to long, it will have to get cut down usually one to two threads (so it does not scrape against the brake shield).
On new vehicles where rotors have not been disturbed, the majority of domestic vehicles have retention clips that need to come off before the aftermarket wheels are installed. If not, this will cause vibration problems.
Aftermarket wheels are seldom hub-centric, meaning the wheel does not sit directly on the hub of the vehicle. Wheels are usually made with a generic hub size, such as 72.6mm, and then you use a hub-ring to transfer the weight of the wheel to the hub of the vehicle. So if this was a Mercedes, and you would need 72.6 to 66.56 hub-rings. Over 90% of all wheels shaking on a new vehicle are the fault of not installing hub-rings. Please install your hub-rings and make sure the flange fits the wheel snug and also on the inside of the hub-ring is snug to the vehicle hub.
Our wheels come mounted and balanced to your door. Please make sure your wheel/tire package gets dry fitted to make sure the wheels clear brakes. Secondly, bolt up your first wheel and spin the wheel to make sure there isn’t anything hitting any of the plastic or body of the vehicle. Third, put the wheel down and turn the first wheel to test for clearance. If all is good go ahead and finish your install. Torque your wheels to Factory torque specs, and retorque your wheels after the first 50kms, to make sure the specs are correct.
NOTE: If tire upsizing; for majority of truck applications - you will be required to make minor modifications usually to plastic on your front fender liners to make the bigger tires work.
You have the option of purchasing Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors in all our wheel/tire packages. TPMS can be reset in one of two ways, one is following instructions on a manual reset from your Owner’s Manual. Secondly, from your corresponding new car dealer. Also majority of chain tire stores will have a reset tool in stock. NOTE: We only use Original Equipment (OE) sensors.
